Kaitlyn Kirkwood:

Creative Director & Fine Artist.

Kaitlyn Kirkwood is an artist, designer, and storyteller whose work is rooted in nostalgia, symbolism, and emotional connection. Originally from Sonoma County, California, and now based in Elkhart, Indiana, Kaitlyn’s artistic journey began in childhood—drawing on anything within reach, from sketchpads to homework (and even the occasional carved flower into a banister).

Her style is expressive and playful, inspired by the Impressionist movement and a deep love for storytelling. Working primarily in acrylic, watercolor, and oil, she assigns meaning to recurring themes in her work, hoping to spark memories, emotions, and connection in her audience. She wants people to recall a fond moment, think of someone they haven’t in a while, or feel inspired to reach out to a loved one.

A unique aspect of Kaitlyn’s creative process is the way she builds layers of history into her work. She begins by flooding the canvas with a base color—a foundation that remains visible through each layer, reinforcing the themes of memory and time woven throughout her art.

By day, Kaitlyn is as a Creative Director at Patrick Industries, where she channels her passion for storytelling, problem-solving, and creative exploration. Through all of her work, she aims to create a sense of home—like the feeling of returning from a long trip and sinking into your own bed.
